Christmas Cake Pops

These cake pops are fun for the kiddos! Listen, cake pops are messy, fun and delicious. They don't need to be perfect. They do need to be delicious though! And that's easy when using store bought goodies. Since you're going to crumble the cake, it doesn't matter if its homemade cake or boxed. This blog is all about keeping it easy. Go for it!
**This recipe is best made with vanilla cake and not chocolate because the white chocolate coating is rather see through.
**Cake balls NEED to be frozen for 2 hours prior to dipping so be sure to plan ahead! I like to make the cake the night before to save time.

Servings 16 cake pops

Ingredients

  • 1 Box of Vanilla Cake Mix
  • 1 cup Vanilla Frosting
  • 10 oz White Melting Chocolate
  • 10 oz Milk Melting Chocolate
  • Black decorating gel
  • Orange Sprinkles
  • Red Round Sprinkles
  • Mini Oreos
  • Green Decorating Icing

Instructions

  • Make the cake according to package instructions.
  • Once the cake has cooled down, take a fork or your hands and crumble the entire cake up. Remove any pieces that are more browned and tougher to crumble.
  • Mix in one cup of vanilla frosting into the crumbled cake and mix well.
  • Using your hands, take about 1 tbsp of cake mixture and form it into a ball. Dont worry if its lumpy. We will smooth them out later. Place them onto a baking sheet and into the freezer for 2 hours.
  • Take balls out of the freezer and re roll the balls to smooth them out.
  • Melt your chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds. Mix and melt for another 30 seconds. Do not over cook your chocolate. Once it's overcooked, its completely ruined.
  • Using a fork or spoon, dip your ball into the melted chocolate. Place back on baking sheet.

Snowman

  • Using the black gel, make two eyes and a smiley face. Use the orange sprinkles to make the nose. Add a little bit of melted chocolate to the mini Oreo and attach for the hat.

Christmas Tree

  • Using the green icing, make a Christmas tree. While the icing is still wet, attach red round sprinkles for your ornaments.
