Mongolian Style Beef Tips
This healthy twist on an Asian classic comes together in under 1 hour for a delicious and light dinner!
Mongolian Style Beef Tips
Most Mongolian beef recipes want you to coat your beef in corn starch and then stir fry it in a ton of oil to achieve that "PF Changs" feel. That is a big no no when it comes to trying to keep things light and healthy. This recipe maintains that low calorie, low fat and high flavor that I look for while maintaining plenty of flavor! Sirloin steak can be a tough cut of meat sometimes. I would recommend you use a meat pounder to soften up your tips before hand if you can. You can also swap for flank steak but be sure to trim any fat. This is a great recipe if you're pressed on time as it comes together in under 1 hour.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Sirloin steak tips
- 1/3 C Tamari Sauce You can use low sodium soy
- 5 cloves Minced Garlic
- 2 tsp Minced Ginger
- 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 2 tbs Rice Vinegar
Instructions
- Make your dressing: Combine all ingredients into a bowl and mix well. Add your steak tips and let marinade for 1 hour.
- Turn your stove onto medium high heat. If you have a cast iron pan, it would be best for the recipe. Otherwise, spray your pan well with olive oil non stick spray. Take your meat out(leaving the marinade behind) and let it cook to your desired liking (mine is about 3 minutes per side).
- Add your leftover marinade to the pan and let it cook for 1 minute. Serve over jasmine rice and enjoy!
