Ooey Gooey Salted Caramel Butter Cake

Oh my GOD YOU GUYS!!! This is SO delicious. And SO easy. Let me explain more about what on earth this recipe is about because it is really unique. This cake is meant to be scooped out of the baking pan, served warm in a bowl with whipped cream or ice cream. It's sloppy looking and sticky so its not going to necessarily look like a beautiful cake. But if you want people to absolutely drool and love you forever, you need to make this!
As you are making this, you might feel like the pan size is wrong or your mixture is too small. Don't worry.. you didn't mess up. You should be pressing this into the pan and its going to look quite thin but it will grow to the right amount. This cake stays generally thin which is why it's hard to serve it and better to just embrace its sloppyness and scoop it up!

Ingredients
  

Cake

  • 1 box Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 stick of butter, melted
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Eggs
  • 10 oz Salted Caramel I recommend Trader Joes!

Cream Cheese Topping

  • 1 8 oz Package of Cream Cheese Make sure this is completely softened
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • In your mixing bowl, add cake mix, 2 eggs, vanilla, butter and cinnamon. Mix well, careful to not overmix.
  • Using a greased 9x13 pan, add your mixture and press it down evenly. It will seem thin but it's fine.
  • Melt your salted caramel in the microwave for about 15-30 seconds until its pourable
  • Add your salted caramel over your mixture spreading it evenly
  • Back in your mixing bowl, add your cream cheese, 2 eggs and vanilla. Cream together and slowly add the powdered sugar until well combined.
  • Add cream cheese mixture over the cake.
  • Bake for 45 minutes
