Skinny Coconut Margarita (No Sugar)
What's more fun than a classic margarita? A coconut one! The addition of coconut milk to this delicious classic drink gives this such a fun twist. I made 3 different versions before settling on this simple one so I had a REALLY good time figuring this out. I tried a variation with coconut milk + coconut cream and it tasted exactly the same as this one with just coconut milk. I also tasted one with minimally added sugar (10 grams to be exact which is about 50% less sugar than a fruity cocktail). I'll be honest with you... it was absolutely delicious. I drank the whole thing. But when I tasted the variation without sugar and how good it was, I felt like there was no need to consume sugar. I can enjoy this cocktail (and as many as I want) guilt free.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Tequila Blanco
- 1 oz Triple Sec or Cointreau
- 2-3 oz Coconut Milk, Unsweetened
- .5 Lime, Juiced
- 1 tbsp Optional-Cream of Coconut Not the same as coconut cream! This will add about 10 grams of sugar to your drink so keep this option limited.
Instructions
- If you have a shaker, you can add all the ingredients along with a cup of ice and give it a good shake. Pour into glass and add ice. If you don't have a shaker, no problem! Add all the ingredients to your glass, stir well and add ice.
