BBQ Pulled Turkey

BBQ Pulled Turkey
This recipe is a variation of the classic American dish "Pulled Pork". Pulled pork is usually made with pork shoulder(also known as pork butt) and can be pretty high fat and loads of sugar which is why It is really delicious. It's typically served in a roll and eaten as a sandwich. This recipe does a pretty great job in recreating this classic dish into a healthier version. It's SUPER easy to make. Just be sure to plan ahead as this cooks for 8 hours in the slow cooker.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs Turkey Breast boneless
- 1 White Onion, Sliced
- Burger Buns optional
BBQ Sauce
- 1/4 tsp Chili Powder
- 1/2 tsp Yellow Mustard
- 8 oz Tomato Paste
- 2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 4 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1.2 cup Water
Instructions
- Add your turkey and sliced onions to the slow cooker. Toss to combine.
- In a small mixing bowl, add all of your sauce ingredients and stir until well combined. Add to your slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 8 hours.
- Remove turkey from slow cooker and shred using two forks. Return to slow cooker and mix well.
- Recommended to serve on burger buns!
