Easy Shrimp Creole
This Cajun recipe uses the holy trinity of Creole food(celery, pepper, onion) to create a dish bursting with flavor. This recipe is so easy to make and absolutely delicious!
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tsp Creole Seasoning
- 1 Yellow Onion
- 2 Celery Ribs
- 1 Green Bell Pepper
- 4 Garlic Cloves, Minced
- 2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 cup Low Sodium Chicken Broth
- 15 oz Tomato Sauce(No salt added)
- .5 tsp Dried Thyme
- .5 tsp Dried Oregano
- .5 tsp Dried Basil
- 2 Bay Leaves
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/4 cup Fresh Scallions for garnish
Instructions
- Toss shrimp with 1 tsp of Cajun seasoning and set aside.
- Dice your onion, bell pepper and celery. Add to a pan on medium high heat and cook for about 10 minutes until they become glossy. Add in your garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).
- Add your chicken broth, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, all of your seasonings, bay leaves and the other tsp of Cajun seasoning. Bring to a simmer and then cook on low for about 10 minutes making sure it does not burn. If you see the sauce drying up, add more chicken broth.
- Toss in your shrimp and cook for 5 minutes.
- Turn over shrimp and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle scallions on top and serve.
